The north shall rise again

There’s still snow in the woods at the moomincabin but the beach was scorching hot this afternoon and this is what the GG sent me this afternoon. If you don’t know our bay, that is Round Island in the middle. The land on the right is Canananada and the land on the left is the USA. The waterway is the St. Marys (no apostrophe) River, which leads NW into Whitefish Bay, yes the Gordon Lightfoot Whitefish Bay. There is a downbound freighter on the left and an upbound freighter on the right. Heading up to and down from Whitefish Bay as freighters do. Embiggen a couple times to see the freighters a wee bit better.

The back door (into the kitchen) apparently lost an argument with the gas grill so one of its (four) window panes has been replaced. People may wonder why I put up with MAGA. It’s because he fixes windows (and terlets, etc.). I mean my own personal MAGA, to be clear. In general MAGA can go to hell.

He called me from the beach and I got to talk briefly (via iPhone speaker) with Cap’n*Queen*Leila (who has probably outgrown that moniker) and cousin Judd (who lives next door to the moomincabin). In his immediate future is a dinner decision – he’s taarred of eating dehydrated camping-type food. I suggested driving up the shore and if the Cozy wasn’t open, to try Pickles, which probably *is* open. In the next couple days he is chainsawing, etc.

I am here at the Landfill, where I am immersed in an intense training course for a new (to us) software tool. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?🤪 It is hot here but not as hot as at the beach because of the cloud cover and plenty of breezes.

The moomincabin is open for the summer and the north shall rise again!

When will you head up to the cabin? It seems like it just got closed; how fast time is going these days!
