Catamaran in, garbage out
Here we are, preparing (sadly) to return to our primary residence down on The Planet Ann Arbor in a couple days. The catamaran is in the moomingarage and that trailer full of trash went to the dump today.
Disclaimer: The catamaran doesn’t belong to us. It belongs to one of my cousins (first cousin once removed aka my cousin’s son). We happily store it in the moomingarage for the winter.
The trailer is loaded with crapola to take to the dump. Where is the dump? The GG asked me earlier this summer. I did not know. He wondered if the Old Cabin cousins would know. They might. But who would *definitely* know would be the Mean Old Grunchie Old Grinchie or Jolly Judd, both cousins of mine who live here on the moominbeach year-round. The Grinch can be hard to catch up with but Judd is around and he pointed us in the right direction.
It was my (late) brother’s idea to build the garage. The females in my nuclear fam (beach urchins and me) were really against the idea. I wanted a “bunk house” with indoor plumbing. The beach urchins (I think) just didn’t want to cut down trees. My brother “won” and we (the family) built a garage.
As annoyed as I initially was about the garage, I came to love it. It provides a lot of storage space for botes (we used to put our sailbote inside the cabin for the winter and it was a pain in the butt). After The Commander died and we emptied The Dillon House, it served as a staging area for dispersing her possessions and a storage area for stuff we hadn’t decided what to do about. We’re still deciding about some of that crap (LOL).
My bonus daughter aka my brother’s daughter tentatively asked me a while ago if anyone had had any issues about the garage. I’m guessing she sensed tension back when my brother had it built. I was speaking only for myself but oh no no no no, Pengo. Yeah, there was some grumbling in the beginning but the garage turned out to be a GOOD thing. And there is room enough in it for my young cousin’s catamaran.

Sometimes things work out for the best. I’ve only heard you say positive things about the garage.
