Where the heck am I?

It was a regular work day. Since I am the chief cook and bottle washer around here, I was thinking about what to cook tonight. Farmer John is now bringing his gorgeous produce into work and yesterday was the first of the tomatoes so I bought five of those. For two dollars. Last Saturday, I trekked down to the Planet Ann Arbor Farmers Market and, wouldn’t you know, I thought I was buying cucumbers at one booth and then later I bought zucchini at another booth and, when I got home, I had managed to buy zucchini at both booths. Go figger. So I conjured up a plan for my regular veggie spaghetti sauce with fresh tomato and zucchini added in. But I needed a couple things from the Plum Market, so I walked over there after work and then I ran into a neighbor on the way home. She was one of the closest of the neighbors to our old buddy Papa, who died a few weeks ago and so we talked. And talked. And talked. Finally escaped from that (although I would love to spend a few hours talking to her about stuff… Her kids, my kids, The Fabians, yada yada yada), got home, frantically chopped up veggies for sauce, got it started, went to the Blue and Only Bathroom, came back, and there was a voicemail message from The Comm. Oh, nothing serious but I did need to call her back…

And so… I am here at the Landfill Command Central. Which is right next to the Landfill Chitchen Sink. The temperatures around here have finally moderated a bit. That means it is now in the 70s instead of the 90s. It is supposed to go down into the 50s tonight. Good for sleeping. The clouds today were huge and puffy. End of summer post-cold-front clouds. Moe-skee-toes? Still buzzing the heck out of us.

I have a lot of amateur opinions about the political crap going on these days. You all are glad that I don’t have whatever it takes to spout them tonight. You are welcome.

Cooler here in the mid-eastern UP, too. Whew! (May I use your phrase “political crap”?—I love it!)

I was walking dogs with a friend last night and yes – the mosquitoes seem to have come out in force. I am not a fan.
