Football Saturday in Fairyland

But how can I write about today? A beautiful almost blindingly bright October day on The Planet Ann Arbor during which I walked over 10 miles and actually got a few chores done in between. Oh just start, KW. Okay, I will.

Walked down to the Farmer’s Market to meet Mouse at approximately 7:30 AM. Early for her but also her choice. These are Indigo Rose tomatoes, an heirloom variety. I did not buy any but ONLY because I need to use the tomatoes that I already have.

Mouse drove us and our booty (fresh gingerroot anyone?) over here to The Landfill and the next thing on the agenda was for me to get a haircut. No, not by Mouse (who has been doing it for me for years now). We walked up to the Hair Spot and a lovely young woman took some of the weight off of my head with aplomb and light conversation (the kind that yer fav-o-rite blahgger can handle) and not a word about “product”. Maybe more about this on a “slow” day but I will go back there. My Mouse is too busy to deal with my bushy old hair.

Neither of us really ate anything much for breakfast, so we hoofed it down to the Jolly Pumpkin for what we thought might be a quiet little early lunch. Well. Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah! Although we had no problem getting a table, the place was noisy with Umich football fans. It was still fun and then we walked back home and I dropped down to the sidewalk to photograph a cute little fairy scene that I walk by every day but never see because it is pitch black at 6:25 in the morning (or whatever time I walk by it). Here’s me down on the ground. I did not fall. I am not accident prone. Usually…

And here is the Fairy Scene I was photographing.

And finally, here is one of the photoooos my iPhone took as I was getting myself up off of the sidewalk after I took the picture of the Fairy Scenario and Mouse took the picture of me.

I walked over 10 miles and 20,000 steps today and earned four badges. We’ll talk about the fitbit another day though.

KW’s rocking the Fitbit! (Sometimes with a wrist model, you can get steps for dishwashing—I have read.)

Was trying to figure out if your IPhone had taken a negative shot, then realized it must be Mouse, and she took the photo of you getting up close to the fairy house. Duh! Time to drink my coffee!

10 miles!! Whoa. I may have walked close to that some days in Senegal. No wonder one sees very, very few overweight Senegalese. Love the fairy scene!
