Sunday Sunset Sanity walk

I am still telecommuting and I schlepped over to the Plum Market twice today. Once (at noon) to get milk (because we were totally out) and salad stuff, the other time because it was the end of the day and I have been telecommuting for such a long time that I got cabin fever, plus I found some funky moldy snack stuff in the refrigimatator and some old dead broccoli, so I composted all of that and did a wee bit of replenishment. And happened to get the same cashier I had earlier today. EEK! It was okay. Actually it was great. She remembered that I don’t need a bag because I put my stuff in a backpack and that I don’t need a paper receipt. She reminds me of *me* when I worked as a cashier at Tempo a gazillion years ago.

I’m gonna post pics of yesterday afternoon’s Sunday Sunset Sanity walk down by Barton Dam. This is one of my fave local hiking spots, mostly because it’s a quick drive down there but also because it’s beautiful. We won’t talk about the Deer Cull tonight. I have complicated feelings about that.

So here are some of the photos I took yesterday in a place we hike frequently. The first is an artistic installation of sorts in an encampment within the park. We think a homeless person sometimes stays there but we aren’t sure. I don’t think anyone is there right now.

The next couple of photos are just scenic things. I like how they turned out but I am not a professional photographer, so you have to know that I am using the iPhone 6S (GREAT camera) and only posting the best out of a thousand or so bad photos.

As we were approaching the dam, two of the gates opened before our eyes. We were both amazed by this. Neither one of us has seen this happen before. I know that it doesn’t take much…

You might notice that the sky was still sunny when I took this pic. And then we walked up the hill to the top of the dam and man the wind was screaming and the snow was flying. Here’s the GG walking across the footbridge in the snowstorm.

HB to my beautiful s-i-l and friend throughout my marriage and association with the CFam. So much fun to put an iPhone onto Speaker mode and talk to the UU and TBG tonight. <3 <3 <3

Oh yeah. David Bowie. Godspeed. If I had to choose a fave it’d probably be Suffragette City! I still dance to Ziggy Stardust songs sometimes when I am hoooommmmmme alllooooooonnnnnne.

I posted “Heroes” as my fav David Bowie song, but it could have been several others really. Until yesterday I don’t think I thought about the vast collection of ‘faves’ in my brain.

I love your photos! They are beautifully stark. I loved the Ground Control to Major Tom one and a few others by Bowie. I was very fond of him in the ’70s.
