Trial by faaaarrrr but I will jump the waves

I knew that things were a weeeeee bit tooooooo quiet over at Cubelandia this week. I am looking forward to a wee bit of vacay at an as-yet undisclosed location. If you don’t know about it already, you’ll have to wait and see where we end up. I scheduled this wee bit of time off back in January. I have reminded folks about it repeatedly, meaning I will need “help” to get my ducks in a row before I leave so no one is depending upon stuff from me to make our next release work out. I mean this year’s flock of ducks. These ducks are red with purple beaks. Last year I had yellow ducks with green feet. Help = information/discussion/whatever from SMEs. If I get a full understanding of the issue (or issues, in this case more than I can count), I can analyze what needs to be done and write about it. I am actually regarded as a SME (yes really) but I cannot just go and dredge into databases like some other kinds of SMEs can. It’s okay, they can’t necessarily do what I do either.

Of course there is a panic now that people have internalized the fact that I will be outta town for a bit so my next couple of days might be stressful. It’s okay. This is how life (and jobs) work. It isn’t any different than when I was a kid working over there at That Darn EPA. I will jump or ride whatever waves come my way in the next couple days. That’s what I get paid to do.

Whenever I am trying to switch whatever tectonic plates I need to switch to go from The Landfill to HL or the Moominbeach or LBK, the gods seem to go on the offensive against me. It’s not just the stuff that happens at work. I was planning on walking to the Plum Market like I *so* often do when I get home from work. Today? Lightning. All over the place. I did *not* walk over there. I stopped there with the Ninja on the way home. I was about to buy prepared food for me tonight and then I saw that they had lasagna and I remembered that *I* had leftover lasagna in my freezer and so I stepped away from the prepared food counter, came home and baked my own leftover lasagna from the freezer.

Lasagna is even better after being saved in the freezer. The flavors seem to blend better! And your lasagna has always sounded great to me! I generally don’t run in the wind, but I did today. It wasn’t too bad, but I think it will get worse.
