Zithery

It has been hours since I have peeked into the news of the day. Suffice it to say that we are not talking about it at this point. I think (but I am not sure) that there may be some disagreement about pollyticks here today.

Instead, we are listening to Mouse picking out songs on the “music maker harp” that I bought her loooonnng ago when she was something like three years old. I can’t remember the catalog I bought it from but it is a simple version of a zither. In my bouts of flinging, this instrument has never quite made the cut to get taken to the Kiwanis Thrift Shop.

Mouse has always had an an aptitude for music. I remember when she and the GG made some chimes for a second grade project. She and the GG cut the tubes. Mouse and I tuned them. That is, Mouse tuned them with me sitting next to her listening and knowing that she was on pitch. Having a music talent is a good thing but Mouse is pursuing other things, like I ended up doing.

The pic is from a few years ago when our family met up at the Tahquamenon River Mouth campground. Kind of a Mercury Retrograde type of weekend but ended being a lot of fun!

I can’t remember what Liz was holding but I can see Mousey’s mushroom ears sticking out of Mouse’s backpack.

I think it’s the water bag that inserts into a Camelbak backpack? (Or something similar from a different brand, etc.)

Politics is a constant source of conflict these days. And depression!
