Greased lightning
It was maybe a half hour before the time I usually drag myself outta the rack. It was pitch black and I thought I heard thunder in the distance. Okay. I got out of the Lyme Lounge to drivewayP and lightning lit up the clouds. I consulted a couple of weather apps. I thought about all the big trees in my yard and neighborhood. I thought about the two times a tree has fallen on The Landfill. I made the executive decision to retreat inside the Landfill.
My first alternate sleeping choice was the Green Couch but every time it thundered, the front window rattled. The thunder didn’t bother me but the rattling window drove me nuts. After about five minutes of that, I moved to one of the couches in the back room, opening the side doorwall on the way. I wanted to hear the rain and feel the air!
In the end there were a few loud booms but it wasn’t severe, it moved through pretty quickly, and we didn’t lose power. The rain and thunder lulled me back to a short but comfortable bit of sleep featuring NON-shoreline REM dreams for once. I missed my walk but I do NOT walk in lightning.
Sorry but that was about the most exciting thing that happened today. And BTW, that pic is NOT lightning. It is a Halloween themed light bulb 🎃🎃🎃

I don’t ever walk in lightning, hail, wind or ice. Luckily, those conditions are fairly rare here, although the wind can be an issue at times. I didn’t use to worry so much about my roof leaking or my fence falling down–I’ve spent so much money repairing things lately.

I did lose power this morning, for about 4 hours. BIG lightening and thunder, and luckily I had made my coffee before the power went out, so no need for the head lamp!
