Aubergine

Somehow or other, I ended up at Treasure Mart in the later part of afternoon. We weren’t looking for fancy aubergine glass dishes. I’m not sure what we were looking for, pitcher frames maybe. I found an aubergine glass dish that I could actually incorporate into my household of non-hoarding. It was 55 dollars and I wouldda had to schlep it home in a backpack, since we had walked downtown. So I passed. If I had had an automotive vee-hickle nearby, I would have made an impulse purchase. The thing is that I have a place to put it.

So, I was grumpy as all getout this morning, mainly because I did not have any kind of focus. What should I fling? Heck, what am I gonna cook for dinner? We ran a few errands this morning. Kiwanis drop-off, Ace Hardware, Lowes…

Excuse me. A Yeti or whatever just came in and blew ceegar smoke in my face. It’s okay, he’s just being a Man’s Man. I get it. I’m glad he doesn’t smoke cigarettes. Only a very occasional cigar. Walking downtown today I cannot tell you how many times I encountered cigarette smoke. Bad thing…

I couldn’t decide what to fling today (although we did drop a couple boxes off at Kiwanis) so I decided to tackle some other little prodjects. Like this one…

And then I went to the Plum Market and that place was rocking and I felt sooooo good after that trip. They had all kinds of folks handing out samples like they always do on Saturday (and I rarely partake) and I had some fun encounters with other shoppers and they also had a musical duo playing at the front of the store. I usually ignore those duos. They are fine but I’m more focused on my own shopping. And so I was today. I paid for my grokkeries and I was walking out and… then… That song was familiar! I was my new fave song since we have discovered the 40s channel on satty-lite radio. I took my cart outside, put it away and then went back inside to throw a couple bucks into the buskers’ bucket. Moon right now? Waning gibbous…

So, it is warm here today. Somewhere after 2:00 PM, the sun came out and I looked at the thermometer. 41 degrees! The GG had expressed interest in walking downtown this afternoon but he was crashed out. I tentatively woke him up. It’s gorgeous out today. We have to get out! Who knows when it’ll be this warm and sunny again.

And so I walked downtown and he met me at Kerrytown a bit later. How dooya like my red shoes and purple tights?

You are very brightly colored! I love hot pink and it’s a good color for me. (I don’t have any tights that color, although I do have a blouse) Aubergine means eggplant in French; otherwise, I don’t have any idea what an aubergine dish is. $55 is a lot of money, so it must be big?

It’s sort of an upside down Red Hat Society combination, isn’t it? Very striking!
