Neon projectiles?

trebuchetI dunno where to start, mostly because I don’t have a heckuva lot to say. Two Fridays ago (was it really two? yes it was) we launched southward from The Planet Ann Arbor and after a detour to take a distillery tour, spent a fun night in Knoxville, well, except for the part where the GG dropped his iPhone out Rey’s car window and the part where we tried to economize by staying at a cheap motel next to the airport. It was all good in the end.

Last Friday we spent the night in Chattanooga at a Comfort Inn. It was a good compromise between $50 per night and $150 per night joints. Although it was a hotel, we were on the ground floor and didn’t have to mess with an elevator. We drove a mile or less into the downtown and settled on a bbq restaurant where we could eat at the bar. The GG wanted a hamburg and I got some sliders. We ate the complimentary hotel breakfast the next morning, the only one we ate during the entire trip. Very good and I had a fun interaction with a nice employee when the coffee dispenser ran out and he snuck me into an adjacent room to fill my coffee cup before he filled up the dispenser. We giggled about hot coffee spilling and suing (I told him I would never do that and I *wouldn’t*). Good fun but then we met good folks everywhere.

Tonight? We were reunited with our fave Oscar Tango waitress and porterized too. The weather was similar to that of a week ago, except 600 miles north. Hot on the walk downtown but put my polartech jacket on for the walk home. Just a wee bit chilly.

Do you think the device in the pitcher is a good birthday gift for the GG? *snort* I think this desktop trebuchet is pretty cool (and it was a kit) but it cannot beat last year’s, which was a raspberry pi computer and ISS Above. Google it if you dare. I’m thinking we’ll have to paint the projectiles a neon color or whatever so we can find them in the woods off the back deck at the moomincabin…

Bet my money on the bobtail nag, somebody bet on the bay. We will be watching the Kentucky Derby tomorrow and I am betting on five horses this year. I bet $2 a horse and I choose them via the name. I couldn’t care less about the odds or whatever. Are you going to watch the Derby? If so, what horse(s) are you betting on? Whether or not you are betting real money.

G’night! KW. Farmer’s market opens at seven tomorrow morning for the first time in 2015. Yay!

Oh this is going to be fun, crabapples might be good, this July I suppose. Acorns in the Fall. Right now hmmmm pretzel balls maybe.

I don’t generally watch, but I’ll see how I feel. I have a boring weekend planned and might need to fill it. I do have a cold though, so I may just laze around and feel sorry for myself. I need to start going to our Farmers Market, but it’s SO crowded. I don’t like to try to find a parking spot and then be stuck with a bunch of people, many of whom I know and will have to make small talk with.

A trebuchet is perfect for GG! We may see this one (57.324711, -4.443741) sometime soon; I’ll send a pic if we get there!
